The reform of Can Jeroni has been done from the point of view of a process that is marked by the different phases which are necessary in a business in constant change.
Firstly, a new room is arranged next to the main existing dining-room of the restaurant. This new room is carved into the rock, with rhythmic wooden beams on the ceiling and characterized by the interaction of light. The new concrete slab is about 5 metres high except for the last point on the supporting wall which is bended to give way to the only point of natural light in the room. The double stairs magnify the volume of the room at the same time they accommodate the customer.
On a later phase, a new access is built in response to a global project to adapt the two superior floors of the hotel and improve some aspects, like the lack of a reception area, the location of the bathrooms and the accessibility of the place. This hall is planned as the meeting point of the three corners of the bathroom, the lift and the staircase. This hall becomes a link between the outside, the dining rooms and the future hotel. The surfaces are austere and hard, as if they were a dialogue with the surroundings of the building.
